Louie, parti poodle

5/13 here is Louie. He is a 11 pound parti poodle. He has been at my house for a few weeks now.
He is the cutest little guy. He loves to eat, plays outside with his foster brother Ronan, and likes to cuddle.
They are guessing he is about 3 years old. He was neutered about 2 weeks ago, which was good, he was marking in my house before that.
He definitely panics if crated. He does not like the crate if I am not home. At night time, if I crate him in my bedroom he is fine, but he does not like to be left alone in the crate.
You can tell he is used to being with someone most of the day.
When I go out, he is ok in the house because of my dog, I think he feels comfortable with the other dog being there and does not panic.
He is somewhat potty trained, it didn't seem like he was potty trained at all when I got him. But he is a poodle, a smart dog, he watches my dog outside and follows along. He is not completely potty trained yet, but he is coming along nicely. The days when I do not go to work there are no accidents in the house, so I think sometimes he pottys in the house because he is anxious when I am gone.
He wears a belly band in the house which reminds him to not go potty in the house. That is somewhat effective.
He loves to chew on rawhide. He walks around with a rawhide stick in his mouth and looks hilarious!
He will protect that piece of rawhide and stand up to my 55 pound poodle, but I can easily take it from him and he is fine. He is a very gentle guy.
Here are some pictures of him. He really settled in my house easily. He is a little shy at first meeting people, but warms up quickly. He has been exposed to other dogs and does not have a problem at all with them. He also has been exposed to children and is fine with them too.
He is a sweet happy little guy!

Ivin has Visitors today !

My son is over doing some work on my house, brought his 2 dogs over and Ivin is hanging out with them. He is not intimidated at all by a bigger dog, he just goes with the flow.

Here he is with Jack.

Here he is with my dog Ronan, and Shy the Mastiff. He is looking out the window.

March 22

Ivin is enjoying the outdoors much more now that it has warmed up.
The potty training is going very well, we have not had an accident in the house in 2 weeks!
I am going to get him out and practice walking on a leash, I don't think he has had much of that before he got here.
He has a great appetite, LOVES treats, especially hot dogs! And is doing very well. His skin was very dry and flaky when he came, now that he is on fish oil supplements and gets good quality dog food, no more skin issues!
He is so adorable. Here is is, deciding which toy to play with, even though some of the toys are as big as he is!

Ivin The mini Schnauzer

Ivin came from a backyard breeder down south. He has been with me since he came from there in September, about. 6 months ago. He is darling. He loves to be held or sit on my lap. He sleeps on the bed and is very good. I could tell when he first cam to my house that he was not used to going potty outside, I think he was probably Ina crate most of the time. So we have been working on going potty outside. He has come along way! He still has his moments, he really doen NOT like the cold, but I am sure once it warms up,he will be out there more and not be in such a hurry to get back in the house.
When I am gone, he is crated, and is very comfortable in the crate, he does not mind it at all.
Sometimes when I am home,he will just go in the crate and take a nap!
He has no teeth but that does not seem to matter when it comes to eating, Ivin LOVES to eat!
I soak kibble for him and mix with canned food and he loves it!
He is about 10 years old, but does not act like a 10 year old dog, he is very healthy, and does run around in the yard. He would make a wonderful pet for anyone.
He has been around other dogs, small and big, my dog is 55 pounds and Ivin is not at all intimidated by my dog. He has been around kids and other people, and is very friendly. He is not bashful at all.
He is a great dog! Here he is with his new haircut, all ready for spring.
